Successful Telecom Systems Testing for the BUGP Project in Libya
In February 2025, Fores Engineering successfully completed the testing of the Telecom systems supply for the Bouri Gas Utilization Project (BUGP) — a major gas recovery initiative in the Libyan offshore area. The scope of supply involved the Gas Recovery Module (GRM) and its integration with a 5,000-ton gas pipeline, which will be installed on the DP4 platform, located off the coast of Libya.
The project includes the integration of Telecom systems for the GRM module, with extensions to the newly developed Temporary Refuges, as well as the management of fiber optic interconnections via umbilical cable.
The supplied systems include:
- WAN system
- Extension of the existing PA/GA system (Public Address / General Alarm)
- Radio systems
- Solutions for classified areas
On March 14, the complete supply left Fores Engineering’s workshops and was shipped to the offshore installation site, marking a key milestone in the company’s continued contribution to high-profile international oil & gas projects.
This achievement reinforces our commitment to delivering integrated, reliable, and safety-critical technological solutions tailored to complex operating environments.
